- MentalFit's target audience includes university students seeking mental health support, mental health professionals (PROs) offering therapy services, and businesses or universities looking for mental wellness solutions to support their employees or students in building a healthier, more balanced lifestyle.
What did we do?
We redesigned the MentalFit mobile app with a modern interface and enhanced user experience, grounded in user and competitive research. To boost engagement and retention, we suggested a new “Routines” feature, encouraging daily use and habit-building. Additional features were introduced to ensure ease of use, aligning with MentalFit’s brand identity and supporting consistent user interaction.

Seamless User Onboarding for Personalized Experience
We created a simple and smooth onboarding process to gather essential user information, helping MentalFit offer a more personalized experience. This approach encouraged more users to join while laying the groundwork for daily engagement and retention.
Visual Identity Aligned with the Brand
We created a design direction based on MentalFit’s brand identity, including custom illustrations, animations, and elements, defining the color palette, fonts, and components. This foundation laid a solid groundwork to design an app that users would love, establishing a cohesive visual tone throughout.

Users can create their own routines by selecting from available resources and tools, while the app encourages them to follow these routines, supporting their mental wellness journey. To further enhance experience we created custom mood elements, adding a gamification effect that boosts daily interaction and retention.

Fostering Connection and Expression Through Social Interactions
We designed interactive animations for user reactions to make the community feed more engaging. Additionally, we introduced GIFs and text-based posts, allowing users to express themselves in dynamic ways and further enriching the social experience within the app.
Creating Public Groups for Shared Interests
Introduced public encouragment groups, such as “Mood Food,” where users can join and engage with posts related to specific topics like food. Multiple types of groups were created to foster community interaction and provide users with spaces to share and connect around common interests.
Strengthening Bonds with Close Friends through Inner Circles
We designed Inner Circles for close-knit groups of friends, allowing them to chat, complete activities together, and interact with daily tasks assigned to a random member. To enhance engagement, we introduced a leaderboard component that showcases each member’s activity level in an attractive, competitive format, encouraging participation and connection within the group.
Direct Care and Seamless Appointment Booking
Feature that allows users to book 1-on-1 appointments directly with PROs (psychologists). PROs can promote themselves through interactive video feeds, where they share introductions. If a user connects with a PRO, they can easily book an appointment, making mental health care more accessible and engaging.

Clear Insights into Personal Progress
User stats feature that provides individuals with a complete view of their detailed progress. This feature offers clarity on their activities in multi timeframes, routines, and overall improvements, helping users stay motivated and track their mental health journey.
